About this pepper

7 Pot Douglah x Moruga Yellow is a superhot Capsicum chinense hybrid created from Yellow Trinidad Moruga Scorpion x 7 Pot Douglah, and it is also circulated under the name Yellow Moruglah. The hybrid is sold as a United States-origin line built from Trinidad superhot parent stock.

The pods are described as large, heavily wrinkled superhots that ripen from green to yellow. Seller photographs show broad, squat to blocky fruit with deep folds, bumpy shoulders and pendant set, on plants with green foliage and thick green stems.

The flavour profile attached to this pepper is fruity, sweet and slightly apricot-like, with strong heat that hits quickly and lingers. Multiple live listings place it in the very high superhot range, with figures around 1,200,000 to 2,000,000+ SHU appearing in circulation.

A naming conflict follows this pepper in circulation. The same yellow hybrid line appears as Yellow Moruglah, Moruglah Yellow, and 7 Pot Douglah x Moruga or 7 Pot Douglah x Moruga Yellow in grower and seed-sale records. That makes the hybrid recognisable by parentage and colour, but not tightly standardised under one single market name.
