About this pepper

7 Pot Peach is a superhot Capsicum chinense hybrid circulated as a peach-coloured 7 Pot type. The plant is described as a cross between Red 7 Pot and Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion, with peach-ripening pods and a fruity flavour profile. It is regularly grouped with the modern superhot 7 Pot derivatives rather than older landrace material.

The pods are described as about 3.0 to 5.0 cm long and roughly 2.0 to 3.0 cm wide, with a wrinkled, blocky to slightly elongated superhot shape. Mature fruit is described as yellow-orange to peach, and live images show pale green immature pods ripening to a soft peach shade. Plants are listed around 60 to 120 cm tall, with a spreading habit and green foliage.

Flavour descriptions are fairly consistent across sources. The pepper is described as fruity, sweet, floral, and peach-like, with the heat arriving at full superhot level. Culinary notes attached to it focus on hot sauces, soups, stews, chutneys, drying, and powder use, where the fruity character is meant to carry through the heat.

Its history has a real naming and origin split attached to it. Some present it as a USA-bred pepper from Mississippi, first introduced in 2010 and associated with Chad Soleski, while others presents it more as a Trinidad-origin 7 Pot derivative and ties the peach form to the broader Trinidad 7 Pot family. A second conflict is the heat range, with information putting it anywhere from about 500,000 SHU up to 1,350,000 or higher. What stays consistent across the sources is the peach mature colour, fruity profile, and superhot status.
