7 Pot Pink
The 7 Pot Pink is a visually distinctive Capsicum chinense cultivar developed by grower Matthew Arthur in the United States. It is recognised for its unusual pale pink-toned colouring at maturity. The pods are large, often filling the palm of a hand, and transition from light green to orange or peach tones with a subtle pink hue as they ripen.
Plants are robust and highly productive, frequently exceeding 1 metre in height with extensive branching. The heat level exceeds that of a habanero, accompanied by a fruity, citrus-forward flavour and floral-fruity character when pods are light orange-pink. This cultivar is particularly valued for producing high-quality chilli powder when dried and ground. Plants are early producing and fast growing, and staking may be required to support heavy fruit loads.
