About this pepper

The 7 Pot Rennie is a super-hot Capsicum chinense cultivar originating from Trinidad, with lineage believed to trace back to local landrace peppers. The seeds were originally collected in Trinidad by the parents of Rennie's wife and later passed to Rennie, who is from Grenada. The seeds were subsequently shared with a grower named Rodney, who helped distribute the variety to chilli growers in the United States.

The pods typically measure around 5 centimetres in length and mature from green to deep red. This cultivar is known for its intense heat, reaching approximately 1,100,000 Scoville Heat Units, paired with a fruity and slightly floral flavour profile. The heat builds slowly and strongly, consistent with other peppers in the 7 Pot family.
