About this pepper

The 7 Pot Slimer is a super-hot Capsicum chinense cultivar originally developed by American grower John Ford, who initially named it the 7 Pot Rust. The variety was later stabilised by Kevin Bane, resulting in the line now known as 7 Pot Slimer.

The pods are recognised for their distinctive mustard-green colouring, which inspired the name due to its resemblance to the Slimer character from the Ghostbusters franchise. Pods typically measure between 5 and 7.5 centimetres in length and display a heavily wrinkled, pockmarked surface. The flavour profile is sweet with slightly earthy notes, paired with intense heat averaging around 850,000 Scoville Heat Units.
