About this pepper
Aji Limo is a traditional Capsicum chinense pepper from northern Peru. It is widely used fresh in Peruvian coastal cuisine, especially in ceviche. The pods are aromatic and fruity with a sharp, floral chinense profile and moderate to high heat.
Fruit colour is most commonly red, though yellow and orange forms exist in local lines. Plants show typical Capsicum chinense traits, including multiple flowers per node.
Outside South America, Aji Limo is frequently confused with yellow peppers sold as Aji Limon or Lemon Drop, which may belong to different species.
