Ají Monagre

The Aji Monagre is a Capsicum annuum cultivar originating from Ecuador. It produces large, sweet pods that mature from green to deep red. Plants grow well and deliver moderate yields, with a compact growth habit that makes them suitable for container cultivation.

The pods are known for their size, sweetness, and fruity undertones, and are well suited for stuffing, fresh use, grilling, and inclusion in salsas and salads. This variety is also particularly suitable for drying and grinding into paprika powder. Heat levels are very mild, providing gentle warmth without overpowering flavour.
