About this pepper

The Aji Picante is a hot Capsicum annuum chilli native to Puerto Rico and is traditionally used in the local condiment known as pique sauce. Plants grow in a bushy form and are highly productive, often beginning to fruit at a young age and continuing to produce for extended periods.

The pods are small, measuring approximately 2.5 centimetres in length and about 1.3 centimetres in width. They mature from green to red and are produced on plants with green stems, green leaves, and white flowers. Heat levels average around 50,000 Scoville Heat Units.
