Basket of Fire

Basket of Fire is a compact Capsicum annuum cultivar developed in the United Kingdom for container and hanging basket growing. Plants are dense and bushy, typically reaching around 30 centimetres in height with a spread of approximately 50 centimetres.

The plant produces large numbers of small, slender pods that transition through multiple colour stages, commonly shifting from deep purple to cream, then orange, and finally bright red. This colour progression gives the plant strong ornamental value. The variety shows good tolerance to cooler conditions and is capable of continued fruiting into autumn.

Heat levels are relatively high, commonly reported at around 80,000 Scoville Heat Units, placing it in a similar range to cayenne-type peppers.
