About this pepper

BBM, commonly known as Big Black Mama, is a Capsicum chinense hybrid developed by breeder Troy Primeaux in Louisiana, United States. It is a cross between Naga Morich and 7 Pot Douglah, combining genetic traits associated with extreme heat levels.

The pods are heavily wrinkled and roughly golf ball sized, maturing to deep reddish-brown or dark brown tones. Plants can exceed one metre in height and are known for strong productivity. Despite the intense heat level, the flavour profile includes sweetness with fruity and citrus-like notes.

This variety is commonly used for hot sauces, powders, and other concentrated chilli products. The exact generational stability is not well documented, and some variation may occur between plants.
