Big Inca Orange Drop

Big Inca Orange Drop is a Capsicum baccatum pepper described as an orange version of Big Inca Red Drop and circulated as an F3 line. It is presented as a creation or discovery from Mike’s Pepper Seeds, and public posts show it in circulation by 2024.

The pods are finger-shaped and elongated, usually about 5 to 7.5 cm long, with thick dense flesh and a slow ripening habit. They ripen from light green to bright orange, and some ripe pods can show red speckles or stripes. The foliage is green.

Its flavour is described as sweet and fruity, with a mild hot heat level around 10000 SHU. The overall profile places it in the tasty medium-hot baccatum range rather than the extreme heat classes, and the thick flesh and sweetness make it more than just a visual novelty.

Its background is tied to the Inca Red Drop line, a Peru-linked pepper known for compact growth, fruity flavour, and small drop-shaped fruit. Big Inca Orange Drop keeps that Andean-style baccatum direction but shifts it into a larger orange-fruited form, giving it a distinct identity built around sweet fruity flavour, thicker flesh, and bright orange ripe colour.
