About this pepper

Black Market Jalapeno is a Capsicum annuum hybrid developed by Packin Heat in 2021. It is a cross between Black Scorpion Tongue, selected for dark foliage and fruit pigmentation, and Farmers Market Jalapeno, known for corking and strong jalapeno flavour.

The variety is currently in the F3 generation of development. Plants exhibit dark foliage, and pods are larger jalapeno types with dark colouring and visible corking. The aim of the cross is to combine ornamental traits with traditional jalapeno form and flavour.

Heat levels are moderate for a jalapeno-type pepper, sitting higher than standard commercial jalapenos.
