Calico is an ornamental Capsicum annuum cultivar developed in the United States and selected for its highly variegated foliage. Leaves commonly display a mix of purple, cream, and green, giving the plant strong visual appeal. The plant produces small, conical pods that mature from black to red. Despite its ornamental focus, the fruit is notably hot, with heat levels commonly reported around 60,000 Scoville Heat Units. Plants are compact and well branched, making them well suited to container growing and ornamental landscaping.
