About this pepper
Cappuccino Tepin is a colour variant of the wild Tepin pepper, Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum, native to the Sonoran Desert region of Mexico. Unlike the more common red-fruited Tepin, this variant matures to a chocolate-brown colour, giving rise to the name “Cappuccino.”
Plants are bushy and can exceed one metre in height, producing large numbers of small, round fruits typically measuring around 1 centimetre in diameter. The pods mature from green to brown at full ripeness.
The peppers are known for their intense heat and robust flavour. They are commonly dried and used in spice powders and hot sauces, reflecting traditional uses of wild Tepin peppers.
