The plant is repeatedly described as dark-leaved and dark-stemmed, with foliage ranging from dark purple to near black-purple and with strong anthocyanin expression through the stems and pods. Public descriptions also consistently describe it as high yielding, with heavy pod set and a strong ornamental presence even before full ripening.
