Dreamcatcher x Thunder Mountain Longhorn

Dreamcatcher x Thunder Mountain Longhorn is a modern Indonesian hybrid created by Agus Bangkat Widagdo. It was bred by combining the ornamental Dreamcatcher line with Thunder Mountain Longhorn, producing a plant known for variegated foliage and long, narrow pendant fruit. Retail and grower descriptions consistently frame it as an eye-catching collector's variety, with the Dreamcatcher side contributing the purple, white and green foliage and multicoloured pod development, while the Thunder Mountain Longhorn side contributes the elongated, twisted longhorn form. By 2022 it was already circulating in online grower communities, and by 2024 to 2026 it had moved into specialist seed and plant catalogues.

Plants are typically described as late season and medium-sized, reaching about 75.0 to 90.0 cm tall. The pods are thin-fleshed, pendant, and usually about 15.5 to 23.0 cm long and 9.5 to 12.7 mm wide. The most detailed descriptions report fruit beginning purple, then moving through peach and orange before finishing red, often with retained purple mottling, while other listings simplify the mature sequence to deep purple through red. The overall look is highly ornamental, with strong contrast between the variegated foliage and the long hanging fruit. Seed sellers also note that different plants can throw some variation in pod shape and colour, but the core identity remains a variegated long-fruited annuum cross built around Dreamcatcher colour traits and Thunder Mountain Longhorn shape.
