About this pepper

Early Sunsation Hybrid is a United States–bred sweet bell pepper grown for extra-large fruit that ripen from dark green to bright golden yellow.

Plants are commonly listed around 61–76.5 cm tall.

Pods are blocky bells, typically about 9.0–11.5 cm long and 8.0–10.5 cm wide. Many catalogues summarise fruit size as roughly 4 x 4 inches.

Disease resistance is consistently described as bacterial leaf spot resistance. Seminis (Bayer) lists high resistance to races 0–3, 7, and 8, and Cornell also lists Early Sunsation under bacterial leaf spot resistance. Some sellers describe it as having intermediate resistance to BLS, which differs in wording from the high resistance claim and may reflect different summaries or seed markets.

Maturity timing varies slightly across sources. Some list about 68–70 days after transplanting, while others give a wider 70–84 day range. It is generally treated as a midseason yellow bell, with some sellers marketing it as earlier than other yellow types.
