About this pepper

Frutegum Orange is a hybrid pepper developed in Italy by Mojo Pepper. It was created by crossing Cabai Burung Ungu with Bubblegum 7 Pot, combining traits from both Capsicum frutescens and Capsicum chinense.

Plants can grow up to around 1.3 metres tall and are highly productive. Pods mature to orange and are soft and juicy at full ripeness. A defining feature is the bleeding calyx, where pod colour extends into the calyx, giving the fruit a distinctive appearance. This trait is rare within peppers labelled as Capsicum frutescens.

Heat levels are high, averaging around 150,000 Scoville Heat Units. Frutegum Orange is grown for both culinary use and ornamental value and represents experimental breeding focused on visual traits and heat.
