About this pepper
Golden Nugget is a compact Capsicum annuum variety developed in the United States by Martha Perry of Pontiac, Michigan. It was selected for its ornamental traits, small plant size, and mild heat.
Plants typically reach around 45 centimetres in height and may show variegated foliage, purple stems, and white to purple flowers. Pods are small and lantern-shaped, measuring approximately 1.9 centimetres in both length and width.
Fruits mature through several colour stages, starting green, turning dark purple, and finally ripening to a golden yellow. Heat levels are low, averaging around 1,000 Scoville Heat Units. The flavour is mild and fruity, and the peppers can be used fresh or dried.
