Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion x Ghost Yaki Purple Orange Big
Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion x Ghost Yaki Purple Orange Big is an Italian superhot hybrid created by breeder Giancarlo Fadda. It sits within the modern hobby-breeding scene built around distinctive hand-made crosses, and by 2018 it was already in existence strongly enough to serve as the parent of Fadda's later Faddas Boar Claws Purple selection. Retail and grower references describe it as a notably attractive and flavourful cross, with sweet floral character, rose-like sweetness, and very intense heat. Within collector circles it became one of the more recognisable Fadda crosses because it produced dark foliage, striking colour changes, and enough variation to generate named selections and phenotype lines sold on their own.
Selections from this cross are described as very heavy producers that often need staking or branch support under fruit load. The pods in sold selections are generally about 5.0 to 7.5 cm long, heavily wrinkled to bumpy, and sometimes carry small stingers. Purple pigmentation is a recurring trait across the line, showing in the foliage, stems, flowers, and in the fruit during ripening. Publicly sold forms from this cross include cream and white selections, while the dark-plant Boar Claws selection was specifically chosen from the F1 for its dark plant colour and fruit that resembled Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion in shape and flavour. That combination of strong ornamental traits, heavy production, superhot heat, and repeated selection work is what gives this cross its identity and its ongoing presence in specialist seed catalogues.
