KS Lemon Starburst
KS Lemon Starburst, also written KS Lemon Starrburst, is a hybrid created by grower Khang Starr by crossing Bahamian Goat with MOA Scotch Bonnet. The initial cross was made around 2016 and stabilised over several generations before being widely shared within the pepper community.
Pods mature to a bright lemon yellow colour. Fruit are typically flattened and saucer shaped, sometimes compared to a UFO, and may show a small pointed tip. Pods are commonly about 4.0 to 6.0 cm wide, though size can vary slightly between plants and seed sources.
Heat is generally reported between 100000 and 225000 SHU. A working figure of 150000 SHU reflects the central range most commonly cited. There are no widely published independent laboratory tests specific to this hybrid, and reported values come from grower and seed seller data.
Flavour is widely described as fruity, citrus-like and slightly sweet with a noticeable lemon character. These descriptions are anecdotal and based on grower experience rather than formal sensory analysis.
Plants are reported to be bushy and productive, often reaching approximately 90.0 to 120.0 cm in height under favourable conditions. Minor variation in pod shape and heat can occur between seed sources, which is common with hobby-bred hybrids.
