About this pepper

Mexi-Belle Hybrid, also sold as MexiBell F1, is a mild hot bell type with thick walls and a noticeable chilli bite. Heat is usually strongest in the inner ribs and seed core. All-America Selections notes that removing the seed core and white ribs reduces perceived heat. Reported heat commonly ranges from about 100–1,000 SHU.

Plants are usually about 45.5–61 cm tall.

Fruit are pendant, 3–4 lobed, and ripen from green to red. Typical fruit size is about 7.5–10 cm long and 6.5–9 cm wide. Some All-America Selections data lists fruit size around 9–9.5 cm.

All-America Selections lists it as tolerant to tobacco mosaic virus (TMV), and this is repeated by retail listings. The breeder is listed as Sun Seeds/Seeds By Design.

The name appears in several forms including Mexi-Belle, MexiBell, and Mexibell. Some listings also reference Mexibell Improved, which can cause variation in maturity and SHU numbers between sources.
