Mini Chocolate Bell
'Mini Red Bell, also sold as Miniature Red Bell, is a small sweet bell pepper known for very compact, blocky fruit that ripen from green to red.
Fruit size is commonly listed at about 2.5–4 cm long and 2.5–4 cm wide. Fruit may be upright or pendant depending on plant load.
Plants are compact, usually about 30.5–45.5 cm tall, though some sellers list heights up to about 61 cm.
It is used for stuffing and snacking, with flesh described as firm and thick for its size.
Seed Savers Exchange links the miniature red and yellow bell types to Lucina Cress of Ohio, who received the seed from an elderly neighbour and used the peppers for stuffed and pickled jars sold at a local hospital bazaar.
Days to maturity vary slightly between sellers. Some list 60–70 days after transplanting, others list 60–69 days, and some list up to 75 days. Differences likely reflect strain variation or seller measurement methods under the same name.
