About this pepper

Peach Reaper, also known as California Reaper, is a Capsicum chinense superhot developed in the United States by Steve Bender at Tyler Farms Innovation Acre. It is a cross between the Carolina Reaper and Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion.

Plants produce pods that closely resemble the Carolina Reaper in shape, including the characteristic pointed tail. Fruits begin light green and mature to a peach-coloured finish. Pods are heavily wrinkled and thin-walled.

Heat levels are extreme and are believed to be comparable to the Carolina Reaper, estimated around 1,500,000 Scoville Heat Units, though no formal laboratory average has been published. The flavour is sweet, fruity, and citrus-forward, making it one of the hottest peach-coloured peppers currently in circulation.
