About this pepper

Peppapeach Stripey is a Capsicum baccatum variety that originated in the United States as a natural mutation discovered in 2021 by grower Matt Layton while cultivating Peppapeach. Peppapeach, also known as Peachadew, was originally developed in Wales by Chris Fowler as a round-fruited selection of Sugar Rush Peach.

Plants are highly productive and produce round to slightly flattened pods that mature to a peach colour with red stripes and speckling. Striping patterns vary between fruits, ranging from solid bands to scattered red markings.

The flavour is sweet and fruity with very mild heat, averaging around 1,000 Scoville Heat Units. Peppapeach Stripey is grown for both culinary use and ornamental appeal and remains a recently identified selection.
