Reaper x SRTSL x Purple Reaper
Reaper x SRTSL x Purple Reaper is a modern three-way superhot chinense hybrid circulating in the hobby pepper scene by 2021. Public seller and grower listings describe it as a plant grown for both extreme heat and striking ornamental appearance, with the name showing its parentage from Carolina Reaper, Reaper x SRTSL, and Purple Reaper material.
The Reaper x SRTSL side of the pedigree is itself a recognised superhot cross originally created by Paul Willet and later selected further by Giancarlo Fadda. Seller descriptions for that parent describe small to moderate pods with exceptionally long tails, heavy heat, and classic chinense flavour, while Purple Reaper is treated in current pepper catalogues as a Brazilian Capsicum chinense superhot with dark purple immature fruit, dark foliage, and ripe red pods. That combination helps explain why this three-way cross is repeatedly described as a dark-leaved, purple-fruited superhot with strong tail expression.
Plants are described with black to very dark purple stalks, dark purple to almost black leaves, and a productive habit that still works well in containers. Public listings describe pods as large for a superhot or around 7.5 cm long in some F3 sale material, usually round to tapering, very ridged, and finished with long stingers or tails. Ripening is described from dark purple or green-purple through to bright red or cherry red, giving the plant a strong ornamental phase before full maturity.
In grower discussion it is also noted for purple foliage, purple-to-red fruit, and visually showy flowers, giving it appeal beyond pure heat chasing. At the same time, current sales descriptions still present it as not yet stable, with possible variation in shape and colour between plants or generations. That places it firmly in the modern hobby-bred hybrid stream rather than in heirloom, landrace, or fixed cultivar territory.
