About this pepper

Rimmerhus Fun Strain Chocolate is a Danish Capsicum chinense line associated with Rimmerhus in Videbæk, Denmark. The breeder account states that it began in 2013 as an ordinary Trinidad Scorpion Chocolate plant that produced one very unusual pod. Seeds from that pod were sown in 2014, and more strange fruit appeared again, with further grow-outs in later years showing the same tendency strongly enough for the line to be released.

Its identity is built around its connection to Chocolate Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and its highly irregular fruiting habit. Current live seller descriptions repeatedly present it as a bizarre chocolate Moruga variant with pods that can vary heavily in shape and size even on the same plant. Extra tails, legs, and other unusual appendages are a defining trait, and some sellers also note odd structures forming inside the pods. The fruit ripen from green to a deep brown or chocolate-brown colour, matching its chocolate Moruga background.

In flavour it is described as smoky, aromatic, and extremely hot, with the heat consistently placed around the upper superhot range. The variety is mainly valued in the modern hobby chilli scene for its grotesque pod shapes, unstable-looking but repeatable fun morphology, and its close relationship to Chocolate Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. Breeder notes also record that the most distorted pods tend to appear most strongly in the first and second fruit sets, while later sets can become somewhat smoother.

Major factual conflict: the breeder history presents Rimmerhus Fun Strain as a selected odd variant that appeared on a Trinidad Scorpion Chocolate plant, while several commercial seed sellers classify it as a hybrid F5 or F6 line.
