Sugar Rush Cream

Sugar Rush Cream is a Capsicum baccatum cultivar discovered and developed by breeder Chris Fowler in Wales. It originated as a natural variation of Sugar Rush Peach around 2014 and was then selected and shared within the chilli growing community.

Pods begin light lime green and mature to a creamy ivory or pale yellow-white colour. Fruit are typically about 3.0 to 5.0 cm long and can vary in shape, including round, pear-like or slightly bell-shaped forms. This variation reflects that the line is not fully uniform across all seed stocks.

Heat is generally reported between 1000 and 2000 SHU. A working figure of 2000 SHU reflects the upper commonly cited value. There are no widely published independent laboratory tests specific to this cultivar, and reported heat levels come from grower and seed seller data.

Flavour is widely described as sweet and fruity with citrus or peach-like notes. These descriptions are anecdotal and based on grower experience rather than formal sensory analysis.

Plants are tall and somewhat open in growth habit, often reaching approximately 120.0 cm in height under favourable conditions. They are described as productive and may require support due to plant height and fruit load. Minor variation in pod shape and heat is reported between seed sources.
