About this pepper

Tiberius Mauler Red is a modern American superhot hybrid discovered by Brian Hamilton in Connecticut in 2019 after plants grown from seed marked JPGS x Primo produced pods that clearly did not match that label. Current grower and vendor descriptions consistently treat it as an accidental cross tied to Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion x 7 Pot Primo, with Leviathan Gnarly Scorpion regarded as the most likely rogue pollen parent. The red form is presented as the original expression of the line, with peach and caramel variants appearing later through selection.

The plant is described as vigorous, tall, and very productive, commonly reaching about 91.5 to 122.0 cm in height, with support recommended once the heavy pod set develops. The fruit are small to medium, deeply wrinkled, uneven, and heavily gnarly, usually ending in aggressive scorpion-like tails or hooked stingers. They ripen from green to a full deep red and are repeatedly described as visually brutal, chaotic, and highly distinctive even within the superhot category.

Its flavour is commonly described as fruity and floral before the heat takes over, and its main modern use is in extreme sauces, powders, and high-heat chilli products rather than casual fresh eating. The heat is consistently placed at around or above 1,000,000 SHU in current circulation, and the variety has spread widely through enthusiast seed trading because of its combination of violent pod texture, strong tails, high productivity, and severe heat. It is also closely associated with the collaborative hobby-grower scene around Brian Hamilton, Justin White, and later sellers who helped distribute the line.

Major factual conflict: one live commercial source attributes the pepper to Nhan T Ha and describes fruit ripening from green to peach, which conflicts with the broader body of live sources identifying Tiberius Mauler Red as Brian Hamilton's 2019 red-fruited hybrid line from the United States.
